Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassidy Meek.
Hi Cassidy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I took digital marketing and business marketing as college credits, and immediately fell in love with marketing, however I did not know where to start in order to make that my long term career. I also did not want to continue college without knowing exactly what I was there for. I ended up getting a receptionist job at a medical clinic, thinking it would be my temporary career until I figured out something better for long term. Fast forward 4 years, I was still at that company with a feeling that I needed to find a way out, or else I’d be there forever. I immediately found out about Social Media Marketing, and this seemed too good to be true since it felt like my dream career. I instantly researched everything I could about it, and endless YouTube videos, knowing very quickly that is what i’ve been searching for. I got some necessary equipment and started helping a family members business with social media marketing part time, since they recently dropped the marketing agency due to feeling “like another number”. Fast forward 6 months of extremely successful analytics and a feeling of love for this career. I decided to do this full time. I opened my LLC and left my 9-5 job. I quickly met amazing people in Grants Pass, joined networking groups, and it’s been growing tremendously since going on 1 year. I absolutely love my job, but more importantly that community I am able to be apart of! I have met countless number of inspirational business owners in the Rogue Valley that continue to motivate me to continue exactly what I am doing.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There has been struggles along the way of learning a new career and being a young business owner, but the community around me continues to push for my success and teach me invaluable wisdom. I have only continued to learn and grow every single day.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I run Ridge Point Marketing which is a boutique social media marketing agency. I strategize, manage, and produce social media for local business. Including paid Meta ad campaigns. I mainly specialize in meta advertising, but I’m known for social media marketing and being a genuine, helpful person. I am most proud of being only 22 and starting my first successful business, I wouldn’t of been able to accomplish this without my husband, who also helps me with videography. I’ve met the most amazing community through BNI, Rogue Valley Women in Business, and Grants Pass Chamber of Commerce, and many many other individuals. I believe what sets me apart is the fact that I am so eager to help in any way I can, but specifically what I’m good at. I always go above and beyond to ensure business owners have any advice they need going into social media marketing. I’m always truthful too when it comes to businesses that may need more help than what I can offer.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success isn’t a black and white picture. It can mean so many things in so many ways, but for me I call myself successful because I am 22 owning my own business, staying true to myself and my community, and continuing to learn and grow everyday. I take every mistake as a great lesson to learn something from it, and to not make the mistake again. That’s being successful.
