Today we’d like to introduce you to Elias Khoury.
Hi Elias, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
EZ Freezy was inspired by my father, he came to America looking for the American dream and got a job working at a frozen yogurt manufacturing plant Yocream. He started as low level worker and by the end of his 30+ year career he retired as the director of manufacturing for the whole company. After graduating college I wanted to open my own business and his career inspired the creation of EZ Freezy Self Serve Frozen Yogurt. So May 1st, 2013 we opened our first location. Since then we have grown to four locations throughout Oregon. We remain a completely family owned and operated company, and we continue to source locally for all our yogurt products from the same company he started working at 45 years ago.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Our biggest struggles like many other companies was overcoming Covid. Especially because are company is selfe serve so the restrictions were very difficult but we held on and made it through
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I believe what separates us from other companies is the fact we have been able to grow and expand while keeping our company within the family, since expanding I brought my brother (Steven Khoury) on as a co owner and with the help of our father (Issam Khoury) we’ve been able to expand and grow while keeping our family values as the for front of our company. Also the fact we use locally sourced ingredients.
