Hi Elizabeth, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Elizabeth Hartshorn, and I am a psychotherapist in West Linn, Oregon. I help healers heal. I’d like to share my story of transforming from a wounded healer to an empowered healer. As a result of my own dark night of the soul, I experienced a severe and profound time in my life, resulting in my own healing journey as a therapist. As a result, I created the Empowered Healer program and began to specialize in treating licensed healthcare professionals with thiis unique program.I have over 3 decades of experience. Most recently, I created the empoweredhealerproject.com to extend my reach and we now have a waitlist for counselors and therapists seeking support. We heal, empower and transform our lives, one healer at a time!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest struggle was my own healing journey. Feeling ashamed, an imposter and fearful that I would never heal. Finding help was a struggle as my problems were often dismissed or unhelpful. As a result ,I had to dig deep and find a path to healing that was creative, penetrating, and dug deep to the root cause of my suffering. Fortunately for me, it worked, and as a result, I felt more inspired to help others, a deeper empathy for the suffering and my life became much more meaningful.

As mentioned before, I am a therapist who helps wounded healers become empowered healers. My speciality is treating healthcare professionals and digging deep into the root cause of their suffering. I created a program called the Empowered Healer Program to address the biggest concerns for healthcare professionals, such as the caregiver complex, shame, extreme perfectionism, moral injury and isolation. My program is not a cookie-cutter program. It is only for those ready to go deep and do the transformative work and come out the other side a better healer.
I am most proud of the EmpoweredHealerproject.com as it has enabled counselors and therapists to finally have a safe place for their own support without judgment. It has doubled in size since its beginning in 2025! I’d love to talk more about that!
