Meet Lauren Berry of Harborside Psychiatry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Berry.

Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Lauren Berry began her journey in healthcare through years of experience working in both acute and outpatient medical settings, where she saw firsthand the growing need for more compassionate, personalized mental health support. Throughout her career, she recognized that many patients were struggling to find care that truly addressed the root causes of their challenges while also making them feel heard, understood, and supported.

That experience inspired her to pursue a more holistic and patient-centered approach to psychiatry — one that combines evidence-based treatment & integrative care, to include modern medication and also lifestyle modifications, with a deeper focus on the whole person. With over 14 years in the medical field, Lauren has built her practice around helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, treatment-resistant depression, ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, trauma, and other mental health concerns while empowering them to restore balance, resilience, and lasting wellness.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like many healthcare providers, the road has not always been smooth. One of the biggest challenges has been witnessing how difficult it can be for patients to access quality mental health care, especially those struggling with complex conditions such as treatment-resistant depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, trauma, and severe anxiety.

Working in both acute and outpatient settings exposed her to gaps in the healthcare system — from limited appointment availability and rushed visits to treatment approaches that often focused only on symptoms rather than the whole person. Navigating those challenges reinforced her belief that mental health care should be more personalized, compassionate, and comprehensive.

Building a practice centered around holistic and patient-focused care also came with challenges, including balancing the demands of healthcare while creating a space where patients feel truly heard and supported. However, those experiences ultimately strengthened her passion for helping individuals find long-term healing, resilience, and hope.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

We are especially passionate about helping patients who may have felt overlooked, dismissed, or frustrated by previous treatment experiences. Many individuals come to us after struggling for years without answers, and one of the most rewarding parts of our work is helping them regain hope, confidence, clarity, and emotional resilience.

Brand-wise, we are most proud of creating a practice environment that feels safe, welcoming, and genuinely supportive. We want our readers to know that our mission is not just symptom relief — it is helping people restore balance, improve overall quality of life, and feel empowered to thrive again.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to Lauren Berry is helping people feel seen, heard, and supported during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. That they are able to dig deep and find the happiness within. Mental health challenges can often leave individuals feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or misunderstood, and creating a safe space where patients feel comfortable being vulnerable is at the core of her work.

She is especially passionate about helping patients regain hope — particularly those who may have struggled for years with anxiety, depression, treatment-resistant depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma, or other mental health concerns without finding lasting relief. Seeing patients begin to rebuild confidence, resilience, and a sense of purpose is one of the most rewarding aspects of what she does.

What also matters deeply to her is changing the way mental health care is experienced. She believes patients deserve more than rushed appointments and symptom-focused treatment. They deserve compassionate, individualized care that looks at the whole person and empowers them to actively participate in their healing journey. That commitment to personalized, holistic care is what continues to drive both her practice and her mission.
