Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Hunt.
Hi Megan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m a Bend native and third-generation Realtor, so real estate has always been part of my world. My career took me to Los Angeles and New York, where I spent nearly 20 years in the entertainment industry, including 15 years as a talent agent representing professional dancers and choreographers. That career taught me how to negotiate, market, build relationships and fiercely advocate for my clients.
Eventually, I felt pulled back home to Bend and to the industry I grew up around. Today, I’m a broker with RE/MAX Key Properties, combining those years of experience with my roots and knowledge of Central Oregon. It feels incredibly full circle to build this next chapter in the place that raised me, helping others find their place here too.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not! Starting over in a new career after nearly 20 years in an industry where I had built a name, reputation and network was both exciting and humbling. Real estate may have been in my blood, but I still had to build my own business from the ground up. The biggest lesson has been trusting that the skills and relationships I built in my first career weren’t being left behind, they were coming with me. That experience has shaped how I market, negotiate and advocate for my clients today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I help buyers and sellers throughout Central Oregon, but what I’m really known for is advocacy, creative problem-solving and making real estate feel approachable. I especially love working with first-time buyers and helping people discover financing, incentives and opportunities they may not have known existed.
What sets me apart is my background. I spent nearly 20 years negotiating, marketing and representing talent at a high level, and I bring that same energy to my real estate clients. I’m not afraid to negotiate, think outside the box or pick up the phone and make something happen.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. Buying or selling a home is personal, and I want every client, regardless of their price point, to feel like they’re getting first-class representation.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was always incredibly active and competitive growing up. I loved sports, but eventually dance became my passion, and I went on to serve as both a high school and collegiate dance captain. I’ve always been a natural leader, very social and probably a little ambitious! I also grew up with a really tight-knit group of friends, many of whom are still some of my best friends today. Growing up in Bend gave me a strong sense of community, which is a big part of why coming home has meant so much to me.
