Meet Morgan Glass of Sea Glass Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Glass.

Hi Morgan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always had a love for as long as I can remember. I just turned it into a job in this last year or so. My granny got me into it. There’s a picture of me, as a kid, standing behind her old camera in my pink and white striped Winnie the Pooh swimsuit. She was such an amazing woman! However it was God that Blessed me with this special gift, and I love using it to help people.

I am self-taught and learning things as I go. However with a lot of posting and promoting, I have had a few clients, whom all have been absolutely wonderful to work with. Obviously I’ve had a couple of dead ends, but I am thankful for them. They have helped me learn how to navigate tough situations this industry.

I am so thankful for all of my clients as well! They are some of the biggest blessings that God has given me. They honestly feel more like a bunch of friends than clients, and they keep me laughing. So thank you to any of my clients that may be reading this.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been smooth, but it is not as bumpy as I thought it would be. My clients have all liked/loved their pictures, so far. However it’s more of the business side that you don’t see. As a photographer you are not just a photographer. You are also a marketing strategist, a planner, sometimes a stylist, and a location scout. As well as being an editor, the emailer, the scheduler, and a social media influencer/manager. as well. as if tension runs high you can end up being therapist, which I don’t mind at all! It can be overwhelming and definitely not smooth. However it is an absolute dream to be able to have my business, and I wouldn’t trade it for any other job.

As you know, we’re big fans of Sea Glass Photography. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Sea Glass Photography is based out of Springfield, Oregon, but I do travel outside of Springfield for Photoshoots. I don’t really have a particular specialty, if you want it photographed I will photograph it. However I would say my favorite thing, so far, to photograph is solo photoshoots and maternity shoots. With solo shoots you really get to know the person one on one, and I love how personal it can get. with maternity photoshoots, there’s something about the way the mothers glow that just makes me love the way the pictures turn out more than any other photoshoot.

What sets me apart from other photographers is my personality, my picture return times, and sometimes I bring my pug puppy, Bubbles, to the photoshoots. I have a very upfront but comedic personality, and love to have fun with my photoshoots . I’m still pretty small and I am not willing to photoshop anyone from looking what they actually look like, so I get pictures back usually within a 2 day span. obviously once I get busier that will probably not be possible, however I’m still going to do my best regardless. Bubbles is the sweetest dog in the world and absolutely loves to meet people. Which is why I bring him along once I’ve gotten permission from the client. He makes for some great comedic relief, to ease the awkwardness.

What I am most proud of is how quickly I am learning about this business and how dedicated I am to it. I am also proud of the way my pictures have come out and how fast I’ve gotten my clients their pictures back. I always try my best to be the best version of myself that I can be for my clients, no matter what is going on in my life personally.

what I would like the readers to know about my business is that we are a christian company, although you don’t have to be christian to book with me, and I am very accepting and nonjudgemental. We offer low prices because we understand that life is hard, and not everyone can afford to get photographs done. On that note we also are constantly offering discounts and giveaways on my social media. ( sea_glassphotography on TikTok and Instagram and Sea Glass Photography on Facebook.)

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see me having gotten a lot more business, and hopefully a few more people’s go to photographer. I’m trying to go with the flow as much as possible. I am going to do some themed and artsy shoots that I have planned and need to find people to do them, but I don’t really know what the future holds.
