Today we’d like to introduce you to Tonie Lough.
Hi Tonie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve spent over a decade working with clients as a corrective exercise specialist, helping people reconnect with their bodies, move better, and recover from pain. Along the way, I kept recognizing the same thing — movement is powerful, but with the pace and stress of our modern lifestyles, it’s often not enough on its own. People needed more support to actually recover and regulate, not just move.
My business partner, Chad, brought a completely different background — 30+ years in construction and remodeling — but he’d been on his own personal wellness journey and understood that there was a gap and what it felt like from the other side.
Between my expertise in the body and his ability to actually build the space, SolVita started coming together. Chad and his team completed our full build-out in under two months, and we opened in early 2026.
Since then, it’s been about building something real for our community in Tigard — a place focused on nervous system regulation, detox, and longevity that feels warm and approachable, not intimidating. We’re still growing, but that’s the heart of it: two people who saw a need and decided to fill it ourselves.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Opening a brick-and-mortar wellness space means there are a lot of moving pieces you don’t fully understand until you’re in it: building out the right systems, figuring out marketing that actually reaches the right people, refining our offerings based on what clients respond to. None of it has felt like struggle so much as necessary hurdles that come with the early growth stage of any new business. We’re still learning, still adjusting, and honestly that’s part of what keeps it exciting — every month we get a little clearer on what SolVita is meant to be.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about SolVita Wellness Spa?
SolVita Wellness Spa is a relaxation, detox and longevity space in Tigard, Oregon. At the core, we believe nervous system regulation is the missing piece in most people’s wellness routines — so that’s what we built the whole space around. We offer infrared and traditional sauna, red light therapy, pulsed electromagnetic frequency (PEMF) massage, buccal massage, microneedling and compression therapy, all designed to help the body actually rest, recover, and reset.
What sets us apart is the combination of backgrounds behind SolVita. I bring over 13 years of experience as a corrective exercise specialist, so our approach is grounded in how the body really works, not just what’s trending. And because my business partner Chad built out the space himself, with 30+ years in construction, everything about SolVita feels intentional — nothing about it is cookie-cutter or franchise-built.
What we’re most proud of is the community we’re building. SolVita isn’t meant to be transactional — it’s a space where people can come together and actually feel supported in their wellness, not just check a box.
We want people to know that wellness doesn’t have to mean extremes. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do for your body is give it real space to recover — and that’s exactly what we’re here for.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes us happy is watching this community grow, being present for our neighbors, and seeing people walk out of SolVita feeling lighter than when they walked in. There’s something really great about building a space where people actually feel better, even for just a half hour. That’s the whole reason we started this.
