Today we’d like to introduce you to Will Cath.
Hi Will, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Movement has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in the Midwest with 2 brothers and amazing parents, and we spent most days outside playing sports with friends. I played basketball, soccer, track and field (hurdles and pole vault) and football as a kicker, punter, wide receiver, and safety. I loved the competition, but what stayed with me most was the connection that came from being part of a team. Locker room culture can get a bad rap but I learned a lot from it, and value it greatly.
That foundation eventually led me into fitness, wellness, and coaching. Over the past 15 years, I have had the opportunity to work with youth athletes, adults, fitness professionals, businesses, hotels, and community organizations. My career has included personal training, group fitness, wellness programming, team development, event curation, and leadership.
Along the way, I learned that fitness is rarely just about the workout. It is about how people feel when they walk into a space, whether they feel supported, and whether someone genuinely cares about their progress. That belief became the foundation for CC Studio.
CC Studio began as an opportunity to create the type of environment I had always wanted to be part of; a professional and elevated, but also personal, welcoming, and community-driven space. Today, I am fortunate to work alongside a talented team of instructors, personal trainers, youth coaches, and Front Desk professionals who bring that vision to life every day.
I am proud to be the founder and owner, but I never view CC Studio as something I built alone. It exists because of our team, our members, our community partners, and the people who trusted us to try it and schedule it into their daily routine.
Most importantly, my perspective continues to be shaped by my wife, Caroline, and our two sons, Connor and Wes. Connor is five and Wes is four, and they teach me something about patience, empathy, curiosity, and being present almost every day. They remind me that leadership is not about having every answer. It is about listening, continuing to learn, and trying (not always succeeding) to improve daily.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a completely smooth road.
Building a business requires you to become comfortable with uncertainty. There are financial risks, long days, difficult decisions, staffing challenges, and moments when you question whether you are doing enough, or doing the right things at all.
One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to grow without losing the personal connection that made CC Studio special in the first place. As the business expands, it is easy to become focused on schedules, numbers, systems, and daily operations. Those things matter, but I never want them to become more important than the people.
I have also had to learn that leadership is not about trying to carry everything yourself. Earlier in my career, I often believed that working harder and doing more was always the answer. Over time, I have learned the importance of trusting people, delegating responsibility, asking for help, and creating opportunities for others to lead.
There have also been personal sacrifices. Owning a business can make it difficult to fully turn work off, especially when you care deeply about your team and clients. I am still learning how to balance being a present husband and father with the responsibility I feel toward the business.
The struggles have ultimately made me more empathetic. They have helped me understand that everyone is carrying something we may not see. Whether I am working with an employee, a client, or a business partner, I try to approach conversations with curiosity rather than judgment.
I am far from having everything figured out, but I have become more comfortable admitting that. This is a fun profession at the end of the day, so I try to lead with that every day.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about CC Studio?
The business is called CC Studio, a boutique fitness and wellness studio located in West Linn, Oregon.
We offer group fitness classes, personal training, small-group strength training, youth athletic development, and access to our weight room. Our class offerings include strength, sculpt, Pilates, yoga, dance fitness, heated formats, and a variety of movement experiences designed for different fitness levels.
We are also known for creating wellness events and partnerships that bring people together. We have worked with local businesses, fitness and lifestyle brands, luxury hotels, wellness providers, and community organizations to create experiences that combine movement, connection, hospitality, and fun.
What sets CC Studio apart is the combination of high-quality coaching and genuine human connection. We want the experience to feel elevated, but never intimidating. Someone can be an experienced athlete, completely new to fitness, returning after time away, or simply looking for a healthier rhythm in their life. Our job is to meet that person where they are and help them feel comfortable taking the next step.
We intentionally keep our classes and training experiences personal. Our instructors know people’s names. Our Front Desk team notices when someone walks through the door. Our trainers listen before they prescribe. We care about the details, from the cleanliness of the space and preparation of the equipment to the way someone is greeted when they arrive.
I am most proud of the people behind the brand. We have a team of more than 30 local professionals, including instructors, personal trainers, youth athlete specialists, and Front Desk team members. They are passionate about helping others and bring their own personality, experience, and energy into the studio.
I am also proud that CC Studio has become more than a place to work out. It has become a place where friendships are built, local professionals are supported, and people feel comfortable being themselves.
At the end of the day, we want people to know that fitness does not have to feel exclusive or intimidating. It can be challenging and still be supportive. It can be professional and still be fun. You can work toward serious goals while being surrounded by people who genuinely want to see you succeed.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that surprises many people is that I used to be the drummer in a pop-rock band called TGL.
I toured around the country with my bandmates, playing shows and experiencing a completely different type of teamwork and performance. It was an exciting period of my life and taught me a lot about preparation, creativity, handling pressure, and working closely with a group of people toward a shared goal.
This feels like a lifetime ago, and while I took a year off of college to see it through, I learned as much or more in this process than I did with formal education.
Being behind the drums also shaped how I think about energy and rhythm. A drummer may not always be the person standing at the front of the stage, but they help keep everyone connected and moving together. In many ways, that is still how I view leadership today.
I do not need to be the loudest person in the room or receive the most attention. I want to help establish the rhythm, support the people around me, and create an environment where everyone can perform at their best.
