At the end of 2019 I discovered I could make a planter out of a basketball and I became totally obsessed. Two of my favorite things combined into one. For the first few days, I was flooded with inspiration of a brand where Plants and Basketball coexist. Plantsketball was born from sheer delight and wonder.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Selling Plantsketball and introducing people to the brand has been a delight. It’s not for everyone, but when it hits, it hits.

Plantsketball is an art and lifestyle brand built around the idea that everyday objects can have extraordinary second lives. What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that building a meaningful brand takes patience and consistency. In a world that often celebrates overnight success, I’ve found that the strongest businesses are built one customer, one product, and one genuine connection at a time.
I’ve also learned that people don’t just buy products—they buy stories, values, and emotion. A retired basketball isn’t valuable simply because of what it was; it’s valuable because of the memories it holds. When it’s transformed into art or paired with apparel that reflects the same creative spirit, it becomes something that resonates on a much deeper level.
That lesson has shaped every decision I make with Plantsketball. Rather than chasing trends, I focus on creating work that feels authentic, sparks conversation, and encourages people to see possibility where others see waste. Staying true to that vision has been more rewarding than trying to fit into someone else’s definition of success.
